Happy Tuesday everyone.  I’m going to try and write more updates on here of what’s happening as often as possible.  Some updates might end up being a longer article, others might just be a photo grab of the day’s process.

East LA Comic Con (or CAPE)

This last weekend my friend Dan and I tabled at the newly formed Cape.  The local con started last year as East LA Comic Con and has now been renamed C.A.P.E.  I assume this has something to do with Comic-Con locking down trademark on the name.

Here’s some photos from the day:

Scared by the Bell issue 3 is almost done.  Here’s me flatting the last three pages:

And some inking:

And here was a “mini-comic” I made for Free Comic Day out at Pulp Fiction Comics:

One I finish the last three pages I’ll dig in and work on some promo work for the Baby Kickstarter for Issue three.

Stuff I’ve been reading:

Any Akira fans?  Did you know the Animated Movie only covers like the first 2.5 volumes of the 6 volume trade series?  Lots of zany stuff in here.

This was a very strange horror book about the woman who built the Winchester House.  I don’t know much about the history of this book – but any fans of that house or scary stories should check this out.

Ian Bertram draws like a step child of Chris Burnham and Frank Quietly.  I enjoyed it.

I picked up Analog from Image Comics by Gerry Duggan.  This is a neat idea about a world where nothing is secret, and so people have to go back to non-digital (or analog) ways of doing things.  It’s fun so far – we’ll see how it goes.  I love Duggan’s work (Last Christmas is a must read for any comedy fans).

Ok, that’s it for now.  Stay out of trouble and stay in touch.
